The daughter of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, and the sister and wife of the god Zeus. She was the mother of Ares, Hephaestus, Hebe and Ilithyiah.

As the wife of Zeus, Hera is not only goddess of marriage and women, but the queen of the heavens. Further, she has some minor control over the weather and fertility, though these are not central aspects of her character. Because of her jealous nature and the amorous exploits of her husband, she has developed the power to spy upon anybody in any place at will. In her true form, Hera is tall, noble, and beautiful woman, but, like Zeus, she can assume any form she wants. She appears as a young beautiful woman, said to be the most beautiful of all goddesses, even beating Aphrodite.

Above all, Hera is a jealous wife. She often persecutes Zeus's mistresses and children, especially Hercules. She spies upon her husband almost constantly, and makes a habit of looking in on any woman with a Charisma of 18 or more. If her husband pays too much attention to another woman, she sends her followers to kill, disfigure, or otherwise punish the woman. If a wife complains to Hera about an unfaithful husband, there is 5% chance that Hera will respond by making the luckless fellow so hideously ugly that no woman would want him (reduce his Charisma to 1).

Hera is also jealous in regards to her beauty; for if she was responsible for starting the Trojan war because one of its members, Paris, thought Aphrodite was more beautiful than she.

Omens from Hera include visits from peacocks and other beautiful birds, a harsh voice audible only to one person, or a message carried by a married woman.

Alter Reality (Su) Hera exerts a considerable measure of control over reality itself, and her presence can command the very essence of the world around him. This warping of reality manifested in a number of ways. Hera can use wish when doing so avenges women that have been cheated upon by their spouses or punishes transgressors against her personal code of conduct. Note that in the situation where Hera and another deity both try to Alter Reality in opposition to each other, an opposed rank check may be necessary to determine how reality is actually altered.

- Hera can use Alter Reality to cast any cure spell at will as a standard action; Hera can apply metamagic feats to the spells if desired, but doing so requires her to forego using Alter Reality for 1 round for each level the feat would normally add to the equivalent spell.

- As a free action, Hera can assume any size from Fine to Colossal. Hera can also change the size of up to 100 pounds of objects she touches. This ability allows Hera to assume any proportions from the size of a grain of sand up to as much as 1,600 feet tall. A radical change in size can have great impact on Hera’s combat ability. Hera's Strength, Armor Class, attack bonus, and damage dealt with weapons changes according to the size the deity assumes. Hera's Strength score can never be reduced to less than 1 through this ability. Also note that use of this divine ability does not affect all of Hera's characteristics.

Divine Immunities Ability damage, ability drain, banishment, binding, death effects, dimensional anchor, disease, disintegration, dismissal, electricity, energy drain, fire, imprisonment, mind-affecting effects, Paralysis, poison, repulsion, sleep, soul bind, stunning, Temporal Stasis, transmutation, Trap the soul, and turning and rebuking.

Divine Power Hera is a living embodiment of power, and ancient divine magic flows through her veins. As such, mortal items are of virtually no use to her, being so much weaker than her own innate powers. Hera gains no benefit from a deflection, enhancement, resistance, insight, sacred or profane bonus that is less than +16. Note that this only applies to bonuses that affect Hera herself; weaponry and armor is unaffected by this.

Domain Powers Casts lawful spells and divinations at +1 level; treats all Knowledge skills as class skills; may make a retributive strike 1/day for maximum damage against an opponent that just hit her.

Hera uses these abilities as an 75th level caster, except for lawful spells and divinations, which she uses as a 76th-level caster. The save DCs are 48 + spell level.

Acrimony (Unique Salient Divine Ability) Any weapon that Hera wields against a male who has cheated on their spouse does an additional +16 points of divine damage to each attack.

Hera’s Mantle (Unique Salient Divine Ability) Hera may provide any woman whose cause she deems worthy of vengeance with one or more of the following benefits. She is particularly enthused with providing these boons in cases where she suspects that the result will be painful and/or lethal to one of Zeus’ illegitimate children:

Deineira’s Concoction Hera may teach the woman that she has chosen to assist how to make a unique toxin that will only affect their own faithless spouse. Victims of the poison created must make a Fort save DC 70 or else die in horrible pain. Unique among poisons, this toxin may kill deities if their divine rank is half of Hera’s or lower.

Destroy the Social Graces Hera may grant a female spellcaster that has been cheated upon the power to render their own spouse utterly miserable forever. This power comes in the former of her granting them the power to pronounce a dread curse upon their husband that causes them to take a –16 penalty to all attempts to use social skills to impress or please women for the rest of their lives. This curse may only be lifted by Hera herself or by a female deity of higher divine rank than herself, and not by the woman who originally lays it upon the male.

Possessions Hera is always armed with her Walking Staff, a quarterstaff made of an unknown, golden-grained wood that is treated as a +5 axiomatic power quarterstaff of human dread. Hera additionally wears a pair of golden sandals which allow her to walk silently over any surface without making any noise unless she specifically wishes to. Because of her status as the Queen of Olympus, she has access to practically any non-artifact and non-epic magical item that she wishes and whose usage would be consistent with her alignment, as well as a wide array of unique magical items made for her by her son, Hephaestos.

Other Divine Powers

As a greater deity, Hera recieves the best result possible on any check. She is immortal.

Senses Hera can see (using normal vision or Low-Light Vision), hear, touch, and smell at a distance of 16 miles. As a standard action, she can perceive anything within 16 miles of her worshipers, holy sites, objects, or any location where one of her titles or name was spoken in the last hour. She can extend her senses to up to five locations at once. She can block the sensing power of deities of her rank or lower at up to two remote locations at once for 8 hours.

Portfolio Sense Hera senses any act of marital infidelity or act of vengeance taken by a spurned wife up to 16 weeks in the past and 16 weeks in the future.

Automatic Actions Hera can use any skill that aids her to discover and punish cheating spouses as a free action (such as Gather Information, or Sense Motive) if the DC for the task is 30 or lower. She can perform up to ten such free actions each round.

Create Magic Items Hera can create any kind of magic item including artifacts if it can be used to take revenge upon cheating husbands or identify when or if a male spouse has been cheating on their wife.

Hera casts her sorcerer spells at 30th level and at 52nd level for the purposes of penetrating Spell Resistance. Saving throws against Hera’s sorcerer spells is DC 25 + spell level, except for Transmutations and Necromantic spells, which have saving throws of 33 + spell level respectively. Hera may additionally cast 6 epic spells/day with a maximal Spellcraft DC of 119.

Avatars

The two circumstances that are the most likely to provoke Hera into sending an Avatar to the Prime Material Planes are discovering a way to punish one of Zeus’ illegitimate children while still keeping her word to the letter of the law, or sensing an act of infidelity that is so grievous by her standards that she must respond by making an example out of the husband. Regardless of the particular circumstance in which Hera deems an Avatar worthy of being sent, it will invariably act through intermediaries and disguises. This is especially true in cases where she is attempting to bring vengeance upon one of the innumerable children of Zeus' faithlessness, as she knows well the wrath of her spouse. Hera’s Avatars will always appear as expensively dressed women with a regal and snobbish bearing, a dangerously short temper, and carefully manipulative words.
