Also known as Jupiter the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. Zeus is the god who led his siblings in revolt against their despotic father and established the Olympians as the supreme rulers of the heavens. He is the king of the gods, though his command over them is far from absolute and his decisions are often challenged. Zeus is the god of the sky, the ruler of all high things, including the clouds, rain, wind, thunder, and mountain summits. He is the protector of laws, friend of the weak, and dispenser of justice. Although he can take any form he wishes, and often assumes that of a powerful, bearded man with regal bearing, in his true form he is a ball of fiery light so intense that no mortal can look upon him without bursting into flames.

Zeus is considered the father of the gods and of mortals. He did not create either gods or mortals he was their father in the sense of being the protector and ruler both of the Olympian family and of the human race.

Zeus is an efficient leader, but he is something of a despot. He is moved by anger more often than mercy, and makes his decisions on the basis of politics rather than justice. A confirmed lecher, he will go to any length to woo a beautiful woman (even a mortal) - despite the jealous anger of his wife, Hera. Zeus is not above toying with men's lives just to entertain himself and the other gods.

Alter Reality Zeus can use the wish spell with regard to his portfolio, save for the replication of other spells. This ability costs Zeus no XP, and requires a standard action to implement.
- Zeus may create avatars, and assume any size between Fine (as small as a grain of sand) and Colossal (as tall as 1,600 ft). He may cast any cure spell at will (applying metamagic feats requires him to forego the use of Alter Reality for 1 round per increased spell level).

Zeus casts his spell-like abilities at 89th level, except for chaotic spells which he casts at 90th level. The save DC’s are 61 + spell level and are Charisma-based.

Possessions: Zeus always carries Zeus’ Lightning, a unique and legendary weapon whose powers are described below, except for those rare instances when he lends it (briefly) to Athena.

Other Divine Powers

- Zeus is immortal, and Zeus is not considered to be permanently dead unless he is killed in Olympus and provided that the attacker makes a successful rank check. Otherwise, Zeus reforms after 70 years. If Zeus is slain on one of the worlds upon which he is venerated, Zeus is not destroyed nor his activities restricted on the planes or on other worlds; however he is banished from that world and loses jurisdiction in said world. Zeus may attempt to exert influence on that sphere again after 70 years if sufficient worship is available or a suitable ritual is performed.

Senses Zeus can see (using normal vision or Darkvision), hear, touch, and smell at a distance of 19 miles. As a standard action, he can perceive anything within 19 miles of his worshippers, holy sites, objects, or any location where one of his titles or name was spoken in the last hour. He can extend his senses to up to twenty locations at once. He can block the sensing power of deities of her rank or lower at up to two remote locations at once for 19 hours.

Portfolio Sense: Zeus senses any event related to rulership, great act of strength, or that affects the air or weather 19 weeks in the past and 19 weeks in the future.

Automatic Actions: Zeus may use any Strength-based skill or skill related to his duties as ruler of the Olympic pantheon as a free action if it’s DC is lower than 30. He may perform up to 20 free actions per round.

Create Magic Items: Zeus may create any magical item related to rulership, weather or wind, or that increases strength, including artifacts.

Lord of Wind (Unique Salient Divine Ability): Even by deific standards, Zeus has incredible powers over weather and wind. This provides him with the following benefits:

• Zeus recieves a 190 foot bonus to his flight speed as long as he is airborne.

• Zeus is immune to any weather-based effect and those who attempt to use a weather-based effect within the range of Zeus’ godly realm must make a Will save DC 56 or else have the effect seized from them and used by Zeus in a manner in which he sees fit.

• Zeus may cast any spell with the [Air] descriptor as a standard action. Zeus may furthermore add any metamagic effect which he knows to the spells which he casts in this manner, but he must wait for one round for each level of metamagic that he adds.

• Finally, Zeus may surround himself with extremely powerful winds, functioning as an intensified greater whirlwind which lasts as long as Zeus desires it to do so, and can only be dispelled through succeeding at a rank check against him.

Zeus casts his spells at 25th level and at 48th level for the purposes of Spell Penetration. Saving throws against Zeus’ spells are DC 32 + spell level. The saving throw DC’s are Charisma-based and all of Zeus’ spells are empowered. Zeus may cast 9 epic spells per day with a maximal Spellcraft DC of 140.

Possessions Zeus always carries Zeus’ Lightning, an artifact constructed by the three Cyclopes Brontes, Steropes, and Arges. For the purposes of damage Zeus’ Lightning may be treated as a triple throw, sonic burst, lightning burst, chaotic power +10 javelin of returning. Each time it hits a target, a sonic-exchanged fireball detonates. This has been included in the statistics of the attack block above.

Zeus also possesses the Aegis

Avatars Out of all of the members of the Olympic pantheon, Zeus is the best known for the wide array of different forms that his Avatars have taken in the past, ranging from clouds of gas, to elderly, human males, to a semblance of his true form. When Zeus is in his true form, he is a tall human male with a white beard and toga, carrying his lightning in his right hand even as it crackles and sparks continuously with electrical energy, and emits the sound of distant thunder from the incredible sonic power contained within it’s form.
