Cassandra Cain, is a fictional character in the DC Universe, and was the most recent Batgirl. She gave up her superhero identity in the final issue of her own ongoing series Batgirl #73 (2006). Cassandra is the daughter of assassin David Cain and Lady Shiva. She first appeared in Batman #567 (1999), and was created by Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott (though it was Alex Maleev who designed her costume).

Cassie has had some of the greatest training in the arts martial of anyone, including her father Cain, her mother Shiva, Batman and the Bronze Tiger. She has the following benefits

- +15 bonus to attacks and damage when fighting unarmed.
Cassie has the ability to “read” her opponents and react to their body language. This gives her an edge in combat. Cassie must make a Sense Motive check (DC= 10+opponent’s HD) as a swift action. If successful, she gains a Reflex save against any attacks made by that opponent.
The DC for this save is 10+1/2 of the opponent’s HD+the opponent’s Strength modifier (for melee attacks) or Dexterity modifier (for ranged attacks). When these saves are successful, Cassie suffers no damage from the attack and is allowed to make a single attack as an immediate action. If the save fails, Cassie suffers one half the damage the attack normally would deal.
Cassie has a +3 inherent bonus added to her Wisdom score.
