Black water appears as a coal-black, sticky, and viscous liquid smelling strongly of vegetable rot, and is found in the insides of trees and other large plants (where it replaces sap), and in the ground, where it lies just below the topsoil. It is a magical substance that is a side product of qlippoth runestone, and radiates a faint necromantic aura.
Ingesting black water has the drug-like effects, as detailed below.
Type drug, ingested; Addiction major, Fortitude DC 22; Price
3 hours; no need to eat or drink, +2d4 temporary hit points, ability to bypass qlippoth runestones' antipathy effect
Damage 1d4 Wisdom damage; anytime a user attempts to consume normal food or liquid while under
the influence of black water, she must succeed at a DC 18 Fortitude saving throw
or become nauseated; Cure 3 consecutive saves.
