This spell completely blinds you but increases your hearing ability to ultrasonic levels. For the duration of the spell, gain a +10 bonus to your Listen checks, and a +4 bonus to Search checks for finding secret doors and compartments. The Ultrasonic location offsets most penalties of blindness (except you still suffer a 10% miss chance on attack rolls, and you move at 3/4's your movement rate.) If you have the Blind Fighting feat, you suffer no penalties for blindness.
